Argentina Vs Colombia 2024 Copa America Final, La Albiceleste Wants To Meet World Expectations

JAKARTA - Argentina is predicted to make slight changes to the line-up that beat Canada less than a week ago against Colombia in the 2024 Copa America final.

Argentina came to the Copa America this year as a favorite champion. La Albiceleste only needed one more win to prove world expectations. Lionel Scaloni's side easily top Group A, then beat Ecuador and Canada to reach the final on Sunday 14 July, at Hard Rock Stadium, Florida.

Argentina's success allows Scaloni to rest and rotate players throughout the tournament, but the manager will field his best line-up to face Colombia, an unbeaten team for more than two years. Without injuries or suspensions disturbing the reigning champions, they will be in full power for a potentially historic night in Florida.

Under the bar, Emiliano Mart Mariez will be the first choice after conceding only one goal throughout the tournament. Nahuel Molina is expected to return to the right-back position to replace Gonzalo Montiel which will be played in the semifinals. The centre-back duo will be filled by Cristian Romero and Leandro Mart totalez, with Nicolas Tagliafico still filling the left-back position after showing consistent performance throughout the tournament.

The midline will be inhabited by Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernandez, and Alexis Mac Allister. De Paul will play a more defensive role to help lock in Colombia's midfield led by James Rodriguez. Meanwhile, Fernandez, who has recovered from the groin surgery, is expected to add to the midfield solidity, and Mac Allister, who performed impressively throughout the tournament, will be a mainstay to create opportunities.

On the front lines, Angel Di Maria will return to the right flank after missing in the previous matches. Lionel Messi, who scored his first goal in the tournament in the semifinals, will spearhead the attack with Julian Alvarez who scored the winning goal against Canada.

On the Colombian side, coach Lorenzo had to make some changes after Daniel Munoz was sent off against Uruguay in the semifinals and Richard Rios was injured. Camilo Vargas will remain the main goalkeeper with three clean sheets throughout the tournament. Santiago Arias will replace Munoz at right-back, while Davinson Sanchez and Carlos Cuesta will be the center-back duo with Johan Mojica at left-back.

Colombia's midfield line will be filled by Mateus Uribe and Jefferson Lerma if Rios is not fit to play. Jhon Arias, James Rodriguez, and Luis Diaz will support Jhon Cordoba in attack. Rodriguez, who recorded six assists in the tournament, will be key in creating opportunities for Colombia to penetrate solid Argentine defense.

The 2024 Copa America Final, which will be held at Hard Rock Stadium, Florida, is predicted to be a very interesting match, with both teams in their best form and struggling to win the title.
