Sebanyak 12 Selebgram Jadi Anak Sindikat Judi Online, Hasilkan Perputuran Uang Rp30 Miliar!

JAKARTA - The police managed to dismantle an international network online gambling syndicate in the Jakarta Barar area. From the deepening, this syndicate employs 12 celebrities to promote online gambling sites.

"So of the 29 people we arrested earlier, there were 12 acting as telemarketing, telemarketing, so it can be said that they usually play a role as celebrities," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police M. Syahduddi quoted on Saturday, July 12.

Dozens of celebrities were secured in action from June 8 to July 11, 2024. However, it was not detailed about the identities of the dozens of celebrities in question. However, it is said that they have a large following on social media.

"Selebgram which markets online gambling sites through social media and also followers of these celebrities who already have quite a number of followers," he said.

The celebrities are considered successful in promoting online gambling sites. Because, according to data collection, the value of the existing turnover after being promoted reached Rp. 30 billion.

"For the celebgrams with these players, earlier, more or less, from the recap results by investigators, approximately Rp. 30 billion in money circulation," said Syahduddi.

Previously reported, the police revealed 23 cases of online gambling over the past month from June 8 to July 11, 2024. From this disclosure, 29 people consisting of 17 players and 12 telemarketing were arrested.

During operating, this online gambling network has earned hundreds of billions of turnover. "The total circulation of money for the last 3 months is around Rp. 200 billion in several accounts in Cambodia," he said.
