PPP Joins Khofifah-Emil In The East Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) officially carries the pair Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Elestianto Dardak to become candidates for governor and deputy governor in the East Java (East Java) Pilkada.

The suspension of the candidate for governor and deputy governor of East Java was marked by the submission of a letter of recommendation by the Acting Chairperson (Plt) of PPP Muhamad Mardiono to Khofifah and Emil.

"The United Development Party has decided to support Mrs. Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Mr. Emil Dardak to continue working in East Java Province," said Mardiono at the PPP Central Leadership Council (DPP) Office, Central Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 12.

He said this investigation was based on various considerations, both input from community leaders to the PPP Regional Representative Council (DPW) anggora, which had been held continuously.

Through this support, he continued, the pair of governors and deputy governors for the 2019-2024 period can continue and complete the homework that the people of East Java have been waiting for.

"All PPP cadres throughout East Java, God willing, will work politically to make Mrs. Khofifah and Mr. Emil a success in East Java," he said.

Khofifah expressed her gratitude for the support provided by PPP.

"Mas Emil Dardak and I thank you that five years ago we won the trust, support, mandate from PPP for our candidacy as governor and deputy governor, and in the second stage, we regained trust again," he said.

He believes PPP will support his candidacy for himself and Emil in the upcoming 2024 Pilkada through real work, political work, and prayers.

"Hopefully everything will make it easier for us to make various efforts to achieve victory in the simultaneous regional elections, which God willing, will be held on November 27, 2024," he concluded.

The Khofifah-Emil pair has now received support from a number of parties, including the Golkar Party, PAN, Gerindra Party, Democratic Party, and Perindo.
