Jay Weinberg Returns To Play For Bruce Springsteen After 15 Years
Jay Weinberg performed with Bruce Springsteen at a performance in Barcelona, Spain last June. He said he was happy to be back playing for the singer of the Streets of Philadelphia.
As is known, the former Slipknot drummer is the son of Max Weinberg who was once the drummer for the E Street Band, a team that has been a companion to Springsteen for a long time.
In his recent interview with Headbangers News, Jay Weinberg shared a story about his appearance with Springsteen at the time.
"Basically Bruce said, like, 'OK, it's Saturday night at Barcelona. We'll use the energy shot I bring to Radio Gone'. It's an honor," Jay Weinberg said.
"I haven't played with them for 15 years. But that's my family, nothing more than that. And I really love everyone on that tour. I was able to see my father and his friends become superheroes there. And it was an incredible opportunity, "continued Weinberg.

The Suicidal Tendencies drummer also discusses his various approaches to playing in different bands. This is interesting, because the musical style is very different, but for me this is life's music. It's music for your life.
The spirit remains the same. I don't really distinguish one of them. Everything feels like it comes from the same place in me to be a part. So, I apply the same ferocity, intensity and enthusiasm as I did for Suicide music, as I did for Slipknot, as I did for Bruce.
