A foreign citizen with the initials IRC (41) was reported to the NTB Police regarding the alleged investment fraud in the management of a hotel in Gili Air, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the NTB Police, Kombes Syarif Hidayat, said investigators had received the report to the Spanish citizen."Yes, the handling of the report has been received and is still being investigated," said Syarif in Mataram, Antara, Friday, July 12.This investigation is carried out in accordance with the Investigation Order Number: SP.Lidik/232.a/VI/RES.1.1/2024/Ditreskrimum dated June 3, 2024.Dalam tahap penyelidikan ini, dia memastikan pihaknya akan melakukan permintaan keterangan dan penelusuran dokumen terkait yang mengarah pada dugaan pidana Pasal 378 KUHP tentang penipuan dan Pasal 263 KUHP tentang pemalsuan dokumen. The reporter in this case is also a Spanish resident named Roberto Camilo. In addition to reporting the alleged IRC crime, Roberto also reported a resident of Gili Air with the initials MH (42).The reporter through his attorney, Fuad, explained that this case started with his client who felt cheated by the reported party in the investment agreement through invierte en Indonesia (investing in Indonesia). His client, Roberto Camilo, in September 2023 signed a hotel rental agreement with the initials C in Gili Air with the reported party. At that time, the IRC and MH showed a letter of approval from the hotel owner on behalf of Muhammad Kilek so that Roberto was confident and agreed to invest."Our client entered into a rental agreement for hotel management and it was shown that the clause may be transferred to another party," said Fuad.Roberto agreed to rent and pay for the first phase in the amount of Rp160 million. Because he feels he has the right to rent, Roberto renovated the property building by spending Rp1 billion. In mid-November 2023, his client was visited by the hotel owner and received an explanation that he had never signed a lease pass agreement.Roberto then contacted the IRC and MH to ask for clarification on the explanation of the hotel owner. However, until now Roberto has not received an answer from the reported party."In fact, our client was clarified by the Mataram Police for alleged falsification of the lease approval document," he said. Not only that, Roberto was also expelled by owners from the property he had rented from IRC and MH. Fuad suspects that the reported parties leased the property they rented back by making a lease pass approval letter without the owner's knowledge.
"For the actions of the reported parties, our client was harmed by Rp1.16 billion," he said.Fuad hopes that the NTB Police will seriously handle this case because it relates to the image of regional investment. According to information, the IRC is said to be in Spain.
