The 2024 President's Cup Will Start On July 19 And With A Prize Of IDR 5 Billion
JAKARTA - The 2024 President's Cup will start on July 19, 2024 in Bandung. The winning team for this pre-season tournament will have a prize of IDR 5 billion.
"Mr. Ara (Maruarar Sirait) as Chair of the 2024 Presidential Cup Committee, of course, immediately conveyed to the President (Joko Widodo) that we will roll out of course the President's Cup," said Erick Thohir, Chairman of PSSI, in his statement quoted on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
"God willing, the opening will be on 19 (July 2024) in Bandung, West Java," he said.
Even though he has revealed the timeline for the 2024 President's Cup, Erick Thohir is still not willing to detail the participating teams who will participate.

He only provided further information about the amount of prizes the winning team would get. Unmitigated, Rp5 billion of funds will be brought up by the team who managed to win the title.
"Pak Ara raised a large fund, this will be a prize of IDR 5 billion to win," said Erick Thohir.
The 2024 President's Cup will be a trial event for League 1 clubs before the new 2024/2025 season begins. Erick hopes that this activity will be a forum for clubs to adapt to the new rules of Liga 1 2024/2025 which will take place in August 2024.
"So that the club also has a warm-up, has better preparation especially for the league, which has changed completely today. So, officially adapt," he said.
