Rumors Of Toyota GR Corolla Autotransmission Strengthening, Machines More Powered

JAKARTA - Launching since 2022, Toyota GR Corolla has been present as a manual transmission hot hatch car. However, manufacturers open up opportunities to offer it in automatic transmission.

In May, Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) President Tomoya Takahashi said that his party would be open to this if the market wanted the Glolla GR with automatic transmission. Now, the rumors are getting stronger again.

Reporting from Carscoops, Wednesday, July 10, a document showing the latest Glolla GR model will be offered in automatic transmission of eight accelerations in Canada. However, this transmission unit looks set to be limitedly available on the Premium trim.

The document also shows that the gyrboks will be accompanied by a pair of middle shiftrs attached behind the steering wheel.

In addition to transmission, this document shows that GR Corolla will have a power output greater than a 1.6 liter 3-cylinder machine with a torque from 368 Nm to 400 Nm or the same as GR Yaris facelift.

Just like his more compact brother, the GR Corolla will also update the front bumper with a number of additional standard equipment. The latter is reported to include a braking cooling channel and a driven steering wheel. The Premium variant is also said to have received a new radiator that increases engine cooling.

The Toyota GR Corolla itself is now being sold on the US market for 36,500 US dollars (IDR 593.9 million) and offered with three different trims. The highest type is Circuit Edition reaching 45,140 US dollars (IDR 734.5 million) with a carbon fiber roof, a gloss black accent, and an 18-inch FORged rim.

This car itself has been sold in Indonesia after it was introduced at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) and sold for IDR 1.36 billion On The Road DKI Jakarta. This hatchback is offered in the colors Super White II, Black, Emotional Red, and Precious Metal.
