Shareholders Affirm Bank Centris Not Involved In BLBI Issues
JAKARTA - Bank Centris International (BCI) shareholder Andri Tedjadharma confirmed that BCI was not involved in the issue of Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI).
In a press conference held at the Maqna Resident office complex, Meruya Ilir, West Jakarta Tuesday, July 9, Andri Tedjadharma was accompanied by Marzuki Alie, former Chairman of the DPR, and senior economist Faisal Basri, explained that BCI only bought and sold promes with collateral to Bank Indonesia and never received funds from the transaction.
Marzuki Alie added that the BLBI Task Force was formed to pursue obligor assets that have not fulfilled their obligations to the state. However, he emphasized that BCI had never received aid funds from Bank Indonesia. "Until now, the BLBI Task Force still has difficulty collecting BLBI evaders, but Andri Tedjadharma's assets continue to be confiscated, even though he has never signed an MRNNA, MIRNA, or APU agreement," said Marzuki Alie.
Faisal Basri explained that the promes sold by BCI did not make money for BCI. "Bank Indonesia sold the promes to BPPN without including land guarantees that had been handed over by BCI to BI," he said. Faisal also highlighted the non-compliance with the BLBI Task Force against the law. "They do not respect the law. The law should be the supreme commander, not the jungle rules."

Andri Tedjadharma himself has sued the Ministry of Finance and Bank Indonesia for their actions which are considered against the law. "As BCI shareholders, I explained that BCI only sold promes to BI in 1997 with a guarantee of 452 hectares of land and pawned shares to BI. However, BI sold the promes and shares to BPPN without confirmation to BCI, which caused the BLBI Task Force to continue to collect and confiscate my assets," explained Andri.
He also emphasized that BCI should have received funds from the sale and purchase of promess and pawned shares, but the funds were never received. "The evidence from the BPK audit shows that there are two accounts in the name of Bank Centris Internasional. The figures listed in the certificate 39 come from an engineered account, which is the reason for billing to BCI which targets me," he added explaining BCI's position in matters with BLBI.
