Israeli Army Kills Palestinian Boy In West Bank

JAKARTA - Israeli forces killed a 13-year-old Palestinian boy near the city of Ramallah, the West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

The Israeli military said its troops opened fire on Palestinians throwing stones at their vehicles.

A boy named Ghassan Gharib Zahran, was shot in the Israeli-occupied city of Deir Abu Mash'al in the West Bank.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported Israeli troops opened fire on a number of children, shooting and injuring Zahran.

Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, July 9, the victim was transferred to the Palestinian Medical Complex in Ramallah where he was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds.

The Israeli military said in a statement a number of Palestinians threw stones at Israeli vehicles adjacent to the Deir Abu Masha'al area. Israeli security forces at the scene retaliated by carrying out shooters.

Violence in the West Bank has increased for more than two years, but its intensity has increased since Hamas fighters based in Gaza's coastal region led an attack on Israel in October 2023.
