Lewis Hamilton's Historic Victory At F1 GP England And A Good Sign Of Three Lions

JAKARTA - Lewis Hamilton won Formula 1 (F1) at the Silverstone Circuit on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

The victory was historic for Hamilton for ending his fasting on the first podium for 945 days.

Hamilton was very emotional when celebrating his victory. He cried because he broke the record.

The Mercedes driver overtook Michael Schumacher's record of the most wins on a circuit (8 times). Now, Hamilton has packed nine wins at Silverstone.

Another history was also created because Hamilton became the first racer to win a race after surpassing 300 starts at the Grand Prix.

"This means a lot. Thank you to everyone," Hamilton said.

Hamilton's first Podium brought happiness to the British people last week. The day before, the England national team managed to step into the semifinals after beating Switzerland on penalties 5-3 (1-1).

Interestingly, British supporters think it is not only Hamilton's history, but also a good sign for the Three Lions squad at Euro 2024.

As is known, England will face the Netherlands in the semifinals of Euro 2024 on Thursday, July 11, 2024, early morning WIB.

Hamilton's victory is a good sign because he has silenced Max Verstappen who is from the Netherlands at the British GP.

Three Lions supporters believe that the semifinals will also belong to Gareth Southgate's men. They enlivened social media by linking Hamilton and England's win in the semifinals.

"England 1-0 Netherlands on Wednesday (local time!" exclaimed the netizen.

"Lewis Hamilton beat Max Verstappen, England 1 Netherlands 0. Gareth Southgate and his friends, it's up to you on Wednesday night," the fans wrote on social media.

Meanwhile, Southgate hopes to bring England to the Euro final twice in a row.

Although many blasphemed him because of England's performance throughout Euro 2024, not a few also supported him.

"He has achieved many things, for unity, culture, belief, penalty shootouts, etc.," the support of supporters on social media read.

"He's working better than 99.9 percent of other managers at the moment," wrote another fan.

"We regularly reach the semifinals and finals with this manager. Gareth has changed England," another supporter said.

Apart from that, the British GP F1 race was presented with tension. Hamilton leads the race in seven laps remaining. Verstappen is in third place and Lando Norris is in second place.

Verstappen then overtook Norris on three laps remaining to take over second place and get closer to Hamilton.

However, the Red Bull driver's attempt failed and only managed to cut the distance to 1.4 seconds behind Hamilton in finishing.
