Return To Indonesian Lirik, Shakira Jasmine Wants To Be Closer To Listeners

Shakira Jasmine will introduce a new single titled 'Benar Salah' on July 10. Through this song, Shakira returns with Indonesian lyrics, after several of her last songs used English lyrics.

The 21-year-old singer admitted that she wrote more songs in English, but after discussing with the label, she decided to release a new single with Indonesian lyrics.

"This is different from my previous song. From me, because we talked a lot with the team, why don't we try using Indonesian first, we want to see how the current era reacts," Shakira Jasmine said in a virtual press conference on Monday, July 8.

"After I thought about it again, I wanted to show that I am Indonesian too, and I also want to get closer to my listeners too. Because many listeners I asked me to sing Indonesian songs," he continued.

Apart from being in terms of lyrics, Shakira said that her new single also displays many aspects that are produced through discussions with Musica Studios. He wants his first work this year to show fans novelty.

This song is my opening song this year too. From the visuals and I have also thought about everything. So, yes, this is another side for me that I want to show, which I have never shown before," he said.

Regarding the song that is projected to open a new upcoming album, Shakira says 'Benar Salah' is a song that tells the point of view of a third person in the love triangle story.

"In this new song, maybe the discussion is a bit sensitive, but the honest one is in this song," said Shakira.

Through his latest work, Shakira is also actively involved in production. He said 'Benar Salah' was a song that had been stored for a long time until it was finally introduced as the first song to open his upcoming album.

Actually, this song goes through a lot of arrangements. This song has various versions. This is actually an old song, when the team (from the label) said 'Shakira, it's just like your song, as an album opener'," concluded Shakira Jasmine.
