Bawaslu Reminds The Existence Of Money Politics In The 2024 Pilkada
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Herwyn J. H. Malonda asked the sub-district supervisory committee (panwascam) to improve performance in the 2024 regional elections or get better compared to the 2024 regional elections.
"I ask Panwascam to improve better quality and performance than before. The election of regional heads (pilkada) has its own challenges, for example, the existence of different money politics in each region," Herwyn said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 7.
He hopes that panwascam will not only understand regulations, but can also run them according to current conditions, and local wisdom in the field.
Moreover, he said, ad hoc supervisors have a very strategic role when dealing directly with factual problems in the field.
For this reason, he said, monitoring the 2024 regional election process is not an easy task, because it must supervise all stages, namely before the stages begin, during the stages, and after the stages are carried out.
"Supervision before the stages begin, we must be able to map out potential problems and how to prevent them. Then, when the stages begin, the supervisor must be able to ensure that these stages are in accordance with the regulations, and are in accordance with local wisdom related to ethics, morals, and so on," he said.
After the stages are carried out, he said, the supervisor must pay attention to the actions taken when problems are found.
Meanwhile, he advised the Panwascam to work seriously and responsibly.
He reminded that panwascam when working must be effective and efficient, as well as choosing and sorting out work in a priority manner.
"I hope your mother (panwascam) is like a rose, which has never claimed to be fragrant and fragrant. That is the work of our supervision, there is no need to claim, but it is proven by spreading supervisory work so that it smells good to the public," he said.
