Plays Maui, Dwayne Johnson Announces Moana Live Action Player

JAKARTA - Dwayne Johnson shared a list of the main cast of the live-action Moana film through his social media. He also reminded fans that he was still playing Maui like two of his animated films.

"Antusias dengan kabar casting sebagaimana kami memulai untuk membawa keluarga Moana live action," tulis Dwayne Johnson.

The uploaded photo shows four portraits of actors with the characters they play in the form of animation. The character of Moana will be played by Catherine Laga'ia as a newcomer actor.

Then there is John Tui acting as Moana's father, Chief Tui. Then there isrio Adams playing Moana's mother, Sina and Rena Owen playing Moana's grandmother, Gramma Taia.

"It is an honor to share the legends, songs, dances and traditions of our Maritime culture with all of you and your families around the world," concluded Johnson.

The live-action version of the Moana film was directed by Thomas Sail and announced by Disney since last month.

Moana tells of a woman named the same name who travels to fulfill her ancestral summons.

On the other hand, the song will be worked on by composer Lin-Manuel Miranda and the film will air on July 10, 2026.
