Floods Since Yesterday, 3 RTs In Jakarta Are Still Submerged This Afternoon

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that there are still 3 RTs in Jakarta as of 12.00 WIB flooded due to heavy rains since Saturday, July 6, 2024.

"BPBD noted that currently there are still 3 RT or 0.009 percent of the 30.772 RT in the DKI Jakarta area," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Sunday, July 7.

In detail, there is 1 RT in Kapuk Muara Village, North Jakarta with a height of 10 centimeters. The causes are high rainfall and tidal waves.

Then, 1 RT in North Kembangan Village and 1 RT in Rawa Buaya Village, West Jakarta with a water level of 70-75 centimeters. The cause is high rainfall and overflowing Angke River.

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," said Isnawa.

For information, the heavy rains that hit since last Saturday had caused 58 RTs in Jakarta to be flooded.

In addition to rain, there is the New Moon Phase phenomenon which has the potential to increase the maximum sea level in the form of coastal flooding (rob) in the northern coastal area of Jakarta.
