Russian Attack Cuts Power Supply To Water In Sumy Ukraine

JAKARTA - Russian drone attacks in the city of Sumy in northern Ukraine cut off electricity to the local water system and cut off water supplies.

Public broadcasting agency Suspilne reported a series of explosions in the northeastern city of the capital Kyiv, Saturday, July 6 morning. The report quoted city officials as saying the water supply was temporarily suspended.

Reuters was unable to independently confirm the attack.

The Sumy region is almost daily targeted by shootings from Russian positions across the border.

Russian troops launched a cross-border attack in May on the adjacent Kharkiv region and officials have reported a periodic build-up of troops near the Sumy region.
