Rock Climbing Optimistic To Win 2 Golds At The 2024 Paris Olympics
JAKARTA The rock climbing sport has set a target of two gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics which will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Rock climbing has a total of four representatives who will appear in the four-year multievent.
"At least we get two gold medals. Pray that hopefully we can get two," said the General Chair of the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI), Yenny Wahid, at the launch of the Indonesian contingent team uniform in Jakarta, Thursday, July 4, 2024.
The four rock climbing athletes who qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics were Desak Made Rita Kusuma, Rahmad Adi Mulyono, Veddriq Leonardo, and Rajiah Sallsabillah.

They all went down on the women's and men's speed numbers. Thus, this sport will automatically get two gold medals if the four reach the final round.
Yenny said that these four athletes had a very high chance of meeting the targets even though there were China and the United States who would be their toughest opponents later.
"These four athletes are quite stable mentally and have dominated the international podium. So, I'm not surprised and I feel they are very ready to become champions at the Olympics later," said Yenny.
Total Indonesia currently has 29 representatives who will qualify for Paris later. The Red-White contingent departed with the target of winning more than two gold medals for the first time in the history of participating in the Olympics.
Indonesia's previous best achievement with two gold medals occurred at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. At that time, two gold medals were contributed by badminton.
