Then Zohri No Target At The 2024 Paris Olympics

JAKARTA The Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI) did not burden Indonesia's flagship sprinter, Lalu Muhammad Zohri, when he appeared at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"There is no specific target," said Secretary General of the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI), Tigor Tanjung, when contacted on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

Muhammad Zohri qualified for Paris through the University Place allocation. He will represent Indonesia in the men's 100-meter athletic sport.

This is Zohri's second appearance at the four-year largest mutlievent. He previously experienced the first Olympics when he appeared in Tokyo 2020.

Tigor said that Zohri would then hone his skills at the training camp which will take place in Jakarta and Pangalengan before leaving for Paris.

"There is no plan to be sent down again (at any championship)," he said.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. In total there are more than 10 thousand athletes who will appear as contestants there.

Indonesia has now confirmed 29 athletes who will appear in Paris. There is still the possibility that the number of athletes will increase again.

Indonesia will come with a target of bringing home more than two gold medals for the first time in the history of participating in the Olympics.

In Olympic history, Indonesia's best achievement was two gold medals at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, which were contributed by men's and women's singles badminton.
