DPR Asks RI Railway Roadmap For PNM, Sri Mulyani Will Coordinate Stakeholders
Commission XI of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) approved the provision of cash State Equity Participation (PMN) for SOEs engaged in transportation, namely PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or PT KAI amounting to Rp2 trillion and PT Industri Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or INKA amounting to Rp965 billion.
However, these destinations on the condition that the government will include a roadmap for Indonesian railways, which includes, among others, strategies for the production of trains, the railway industry, meeting population transportation needs, and others, in every PMN application for the railway sector.
Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati expressed her objection to this because it did not feel the authority of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) to convey the Indonesian railway roadmap, because there were several other Ministries/Institutions related to KAI.
"The train may be my last comment to ask for the Indonesian railway roadmap. We have no problem but this may also be related to the authority of the Ministry of Transportation, then PT KAI is like the LRT, the MRT also concerns the DKI regional government because it also owns stakeholders because it is divided," Sri Mulyani said in a Working Meeting with Commission XI DPR RI, Wednesday, July 3.
According to Sri Mulyani, this will become more complex which is not entirely within the authority of the Ministry of Finance, because it has something to do with the Ministry of Transportation, Regional Governments, the Ministry of Industry, and the Ministry of SOEs which are also suitable for discussing rail production strategies and others.

"So maybe the notes, because not in all of our powers, we will need coordination. We will report to other stakeholders, namely regarding this request, so we may not be able to promise yet," he said.
Sri Mulyani conveyed that she could not promise it not because she didn't want to, but knew that this would be relatively complex from the coordination on K/L's request at the request.
In addition, Sri Mulyani said that she really appreciated the deepening carried out by Commission XI of the DPR regarding PMN.
"I strongly agree and appreciate Commission XI for conducting a marathon deepening in the last two days against PMN-PMN," he concluded.
