For Experience To Cakada PDIP, Ahok: Officials' Duties For Social Academics, Not For Social Assistance

PDI-P politician (PDIP) Basuki Tjahaja Kusuma alias Ahok reminded regional head candidates (cakada) later if they lead or return to office, they do not prioritize social assistance (bansos).

He emphasized that the main task of regional heads is to realize social justice, not to distribute social assistance using regional or personal operational funds.

"It's your job to become an official to realize social events, not social assistance. Because in social justice there must be social assistance," Ahok said on the sidelines of the event, quoted from Gun Romli's X Gun account, @GunRomli, Tuesday, July 2.

This was conveyed by the former President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) when sharing his experiences with regional heads and those who had served at the 2024 Pilkada Winning Team National Training Center at the PDIP Jakarta DPP.

According to him, the main task in equitable community welfare will be eliminated if a leader is only looking for reason to diligently spread social assistance.

"So if you only provide social assistance, there will be no justice later. And even you can be eliminated if people give more assistance than you have. That's basically it," said Ahok.

The stages for the nomination of regional heads in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections will begin in May and continue in August. This contest can be attended by anyone who meets the requirements from both parties and non-party parties.

In early May, the nomination process focused on fulfilling the requirements for individual candidacy (non-party). Meanwhile, in August, individual candidates and candidates promoted by political parties must officially register with the KPU in each region.

The rules for advancing the 2024 Pilkada are contained in Law Number 10 of 2016 concerning the Election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors.
