Kadri The Singing Lawyer Starts Its Solo Project Through The Song Karmila
JAKARTA - Kadri Mohamad, the vocalist of the band Makara known as 'The Singing Lawyer', started a new journey as a soloist. In collaboration with LiLo The Producer (Lilo KLa) and Nagaswara, Kadri launched a new single titled Karmila which is re-arranged.
Karmila itself is a song written and popularized Farid Hardja in 1977. This song has become very iconic in the Indonesian music industry to date.
Meanwhile, Kadri's solo project began to think about it since eleven years ago. At that time, LiLo, who is indeed a friend, felt that Kadri's vocal color was very suitable when singing Farid Hardja's songs.
"So, in the past we often imitated (other singers), but actually joked. When (mimicking) Farid Hardja, LiLo said 'Try it, I'm producing Karmila's song. Even though I joked at that time,' said Kadri, telling the story of the beginning of his solo project, at a press conference in Sarinah, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 1.
At that time, a demonstration had been made, but other activities made the solo project plan stop. Then, Kadri and LiLo resumed their plan starting last year, until finally the Kadri version was officially released.
"Finally he (Kadri) wanted to be serious, so I continued, I immediately committed. Because it was to sing the song Karmila, in my opinion it was suitable, Kadri," said LiLo.

I told Kadri, 'If you are my first artist, the artist LiLo The Producer, you have to sing Karmila'. From eleven years ago I thought about that. Yes, thank God it happened today," continued LiLo
Kadri also admitted that he was satisfied to see the results of his collaboration with LiLo. He felt the KLa Project guitarist was working very well as a producer, who helped the singer to find the uniqueness of her vocals.
"Yes, finally it was my clothes that managed to find the uniqueness of my vocals, made with his music, and then he produced," said Kadri.
"Because the formulation in this world is, it's the singer not the song. So, the singer is not the song. That's why if you want to take some of the successful bands because the singers are unique," said LiLo.
In line with LiLo and Kadri, Rahayu Kertawiguna as CEO of NAGASWARA said there was no choice to refuse cooperation when he saw the uniqueness of the two musicians who were united through music.
I am interested because there is something different from the others. The music is different from the others and is more lively than the original sound. I imagine two champions being one, what are the results. Winners in the sense that they control their respective fields, one vocal is unique, the other is unique," concluded Rahayu Kertawiguna.
