Landslides In Blitar, 2 People Died And One Still Missing
JAKARTA - A landslide hit Bumirejo Village, Kesamben District, Blitar Regency, East Java, yesterday. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) noted that two people died buried by landslides.
In addition, as of Monday, July 1, it was recorded that one victim was still missing. There is one other person who was injured.
"The missing victim has not been found and the search process is still being carried out by the Blitar Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPDB)," said Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in his statement.
At least two heavy equipment were deployed to assist the search process.
The total number of victims, four of whom were chicken farm workers and one other person, was the owner of a chicken coop.

In addition to searching for missing victims, BPBD Blitar Regency together with a joint team also carried out cleaning up avalanche materials at affected locations.
The landslide incident occurred because of a unstable soil contour at an altitude of 20 meters and caused a five-meter-deep landslide.
"Based on a quick assessment conducted by the local BPBD, the material losses caused by this landslide include the chicken coop building of a farm that was hit by a landslide," he added.
