Tanah Bumbu Bahas Penataan Perizinan Tambang

JAKARTA - The Tanah Bumbu Regency Government of South Kalimantan Province, attended a coordination meeting (Rakor) to discuss the arrangement of mining sector permits in non-metallic and coal Mineral and Mineral areas (MBLB) with the central government.

"The mining sector is one of the backbones of the regional economy that contributes significantly to GDRB. Opening up employment opportunities, and encouraging growth and other sectors," said Tanah Bumbu Regional Secretary Ambo Sakka as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, June 30.

But behind this great potential, he said, is also faced with challenges that are not light. The main challenge is how to balance economic development with environmental conservation efforts.

He explained that mining activities, especially those in forest areas, have environmental impacts that must be managed wisely.

"We must ensure that exploitation of natural resources does not sacrifice the sustainability of the environment and welfare of future generations," he said.

On the other hand, explained Ambo Sakka, mining management, not non-metallic minerals and rocks also requires special attention. Even though it is considered a small-scale mine, its cumulative impact on the environment and social cannot be ignored.

It takes the right strategy to optimize its economic potential while minimizing the risks that will arise.

Therefore, this Coordination Meeting has a very important meaning. This is the momentum to sit down together, exchange ideas, and find the best solution in managing mining sector permits in South Kalimantan.

"Through the meeting, it is hoped that it can produce policies that are not only pro-investment. But also pro-environment and pro-people," he said.

He also added how important good mining governance is, the principles of transparency, accountability, and professionalism. Must be the basis for managing natural resources in South Kalimantan.

Good governance will not only increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the mining sector. But it will also build public trust and attract responsible investment.

As an illustration, he said, there are several important points that will be the focus of structuring the mining sector, especially MBLB in South Kalimantan.

Among other things, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government will integrate licensing data and the MBLB licensing process with the Regency/City government.

This integration will be carried out by taking into account regional spatial planning and the planned detailed regional spatial planning that apply.

The goal is to ensure that every permit given is in line with the arrangement of regional spatial planning. And it does not cause a conflict of interest in the future.

"Hopefully this coordination meeting can be a concrete step in improving the welfare of the people of South Kalimantan," he concluded.

The Coordinating Meeting for the Arrangement of MBLB Licensing was attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian KPK Alexander Marwata and his staff, the Director-General of Regional Finance at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
