UKW Gate Conflict After, DK No Corruption, PWI Chairman Will Follow Up On Plenary Meetings Expanded
JAKARTA - The feud between the Honorary Council (DK) and the Daily Executive of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) is related to allegations of misappropriation of cooperation funds with the BUMN Public Relations Forum in the implementation of the Journalist Competency Test (UKW) ending with anti climax. In a joint press conference, Chairman of the Honorary Council Sasongko Tedjo and Chairman of the Central PWI Hendry Ch Bangun agreed that this issue had been resolved.
"We state together that there is no conflict between DK and PH. We respect each other's main functions. Second, DK stated that in the plenary meeting it was expanded that there was no corruption, only the alleged administrative violation. Third, we will follow up on the decision of the expanded plenary meeting," said Hendry in a press release at the 4th Floor Press Council Building, Jakarta on Thursday 27 June.
Sasongko added that the issue of alleged UKW administrative violations had been completed and the recommendation of DK had been followed up and brought to an expanded plenary meeting. When asked about indications of corruption in the implementation of UKW, Sasongko emphasized that from the start there had never been any statement regarding corruption. "From the start we never said there was corruption. There were allegations of violations of PDPRT," he said.

First, ratifying the resignation of four PWI central administrators, namely Iskandar Zulkarnain from the Honorary Council, Muhamad Ihsan from the Deputy General Treasurer, Syarif Hidayatullah as Director of MSMEs, and Sayid Iskandarsyah as Secretary General.
Second, the expanded plenary meeting gives a mandate to the General Chairperson to carry out changes to the central management of PWI at all levels of management. Third, rejecting the decision of the Honorary Council regarding the sanction of temporary dismissal of Sayid Iskandarsyah.
