Health Office: Families Risk Of Stunting In Asmat Regency Reaches 22 Thousand
JAKARTA - Head of the Public Health Division of the Asmat District Health Office (Dinkes), South Papua Province, Steven Langi stated, as many as 22,906 families in the district are at risk of stunting.The number of heads of families (KK) in Asmat Regency was recorded at 23,894 and spread over 25 districts and 224 villages."Meanwhile, the population of Asmat Regency is 113,524 people," said Steven when contacted in Jayapura, Antara, Thursday, June 27.Steven explained that the toddler who was the target of stunting reduction intervention was 716 toddlers, consisting of 195 very short toddlers and 521 toddlers in the short category.According to data, the prevalence of stunting in Asmat Regency, according to the orientation data for strengthening the recording of public-based nutrition reporting (e-PPGBM) in 2022, was recorded at 28.9 percent.The number of studies on Indonesia's nutritional status (SSGI) in 2022 was recorded at 54.5 percent, while according to e-PPGBM data in 2023, there was a decrease of 27.3 percent (2,622 children who were weighed), bringing it to 27.2 percent.He added that reducing stunting rates requires cross-sectoral cooperation and this has been done, so that cases gradually decrease.
"Through cross-sectoral handling, it is hoped that stunting cases in Asmat Regency will continue to decline," he said.
