Paired With Sohibul In The DKI Gubernatorial Election, Anies Believes Other Parties Join The Coalition
JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan responded to the decision of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) which brought him to the 2024 Pilkada in Jakarta and paired with the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council Sohibul Iman.Anies appreciated the political stance of PKS which still supports him as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in the second period, after previously carrying out the 2024 presidential election.The former governor of DKI Jakarta hopes that other political parties can join forces to form a coalition to carry him in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election with PKS and PKB."Alhamdulillah, after PKB and PKS, God willing, there will be other parties willing to fight together to return Jakarta to a city that is advanced, happy for its citizens," said Anies on the Aniesbaswedan Instagram account, Wednesday, June 26.Saat PKS mengumumkan usungannya, Anies tengah berada di Spanyol bersama keluarga. Likewise with other party leaders," explained Anies.PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu officially announced that his party would pair Anies Baswedan and Sohibul Iman as candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada."The PKS DPP at a meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2024 has decided to carry Mr. Anies rasyid Baswedan as a candidate for governor and father Sohibul faith as a candidate for deputy governor," said Syaikhu in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, June 25.Syaikhu explained the reason for carrying out his cadres, namely the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council Sohibul Iman in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada contestation. According to him, PKS carries a constitutional mandate to carry out regeneration and regeneration of political leadership.Thus, with his position as the winning party for the 2024 DKI Jakarta DPRD Legislative Election which won 18 seats, PKS felt that it had to carry its cadres in the Jakarta gubernatorial election this year."So, PKS will try it as much as possible to propose its own cadres, to become a candidate, is part of being held accountable to constituents including in DKI Jakarta Province as the winning party. "Meanwhile, Mr. Sohibul Iman is a technocrat, a scholar who was once the Chancellor of Paramadina University, has experience in the legislature as the representative of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2013-2014 period, and has been the President of PKS for the 2015-2020 period," he added.
