BYD Will Present SUV Model Named Ming, Has A Long Up To Five Meters

JAKARTA - In recent times, BYD reportedly will soon launch an SUV for the Chinese market called Ming. Further information about this vehicle has also been revealed.

Reporting from CarNewsChina, Tuesday, June 25, the car has a length of up to 5,100 mm with a capacity of seven seats. Ming is expected to replace the position of the Tang series as a flagship SUV from BYD.

In addition, BYD Ming has a width of 2,000 mm, a height of 1,750 mm, and a wheelbase reaches 3,000 mm. As a comparison, this car is 230 mm longer, 50 mm wider, 25 mm higher, and with a wheelbase of 180 mm longer.

Because it has a wider capacity, Ming weighs up to 2,500 kg or 55 kg heavier than the Tang DM-p model.

Although the information about this model is still very limited, it is likely that Ming will adopt the latest 'Dragon Face' design language similar to Qin L. It is estimated that this SUV is not intended as an off-road vehicle, but for urban needs. The SUV will have a capacity of seven seats and will have an LCD instrument panel display.

According to current information, BYD Ming will be equipped with a powertrain plug-in DM-p hybrid system, consisting of a dual electric motor combined with an ICE 2.0 liter turbocharged four-wheeled (4WD) engine producing up to 600 dk of power.

Thus, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour within 3.9 seconds or 0.4 seconds faster than Tang DM-p.

Speaking of price ranges, this Ming series will be sold for 300,000 yuan to 350,000 yuan (IDR 677.8 million to IDR 790.8 million). This car will rival a number of local rival brands such as Li L8, Li L7, and Aito M7.
