Not Officially Supporting Bobby In The North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election, Democrats Wait For SBY's Order

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party is waiting for instructions from the Chairman of the Party High Council (MTP) Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) to provide a letter of recommendation to the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution as a candidate for governor in the 2024 North Sumatra Pilgub.

Chairman of the Democratic Party BPOKK, Herman Khaeron, said that the party will hold a meeting to discuss the 2024 Pilkada, including the issue of support for Bobby. According to Herman, support for Bobby depends on the approval of the chairman of the Party High Council.

"At the task force level there will be a meeting, from the task force we will report to the ketum, of course we will report many areas, not only North Sumatra, we will report to the ketum, later the ketum will report to the chairman of the Tinggung Council, to Pak SBY and all members of the upper house. Then after that it was decided for the governor, of course the decision of the upper house, "said Herman Khaeron, Tuesday, June 25.

Herman explained that the determination of regional head candidates at the district/city level will be directly decided by the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). Meanwhile, the provincial level will be decided by SBY as the Chair of the MTP.

"As for districts/cities, it is the ketum's decision. But once again we are waiting for this process and we will make a report in the near future, the task force will make a report, we will report it after reporting it to the ketum and report it to the upper house," he explained.

"For the province, the decision (SBY). Later he (Ketum AHY) will report it and (SBY) decide," continued Herman.
