Andy Murray Hopes To Appear At Wimbledon 2024

JAKARTA - Andy Murray still dreams of playing at the 2024 Wimbledon before he decides to retire.

However, he is still recovering after the bone surgery on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

The 37-year-old hopes that he can recover before July 1, aka the first day of Wimbledon 2024.

Previously he was reported to be resigning from Wimbledon whom he had won twice. This is related to the predicted recovery time which will take four to six weeks.

The information was shared by the ATP Tour social media account, the men's tennis management body.

The news angered Murray because details of his injury were leaked to the public, especially since he had been branded not to participate in the 2024 Wimbledon.

Murray's team also understands the anger of the three-year Grand Slam winner.

"I've seen reports and social media and that's not my understanding. It comes from one source and has a direct impact, many people have reported it."

"However, that is not my understanding. He (Murray) has clearly undergone the procedure and you have to wait and see now."

"My understanding is that no decision has yet been made and let's wish Andy all the best," said Leon Smith, England's Davis Cup captain and coach Murray.

Murray's anger is not without reason. Since the beginning of this year he has been targeting that Wimbledon and the 2024 Paris Olympics be a major event to close his tennis career.

No wonder, at this time the motivation to recover faster is enormous. The team of doctors who handle Murray also said that the operation was successful.

Next, he will try a number of recovery methods in order to recover as planned.

For information, Andy Murray suffered a back injury last week. He lost coordination and strength on his right leg while appearing in the last 16 of the Queen's Club Championship 2024.

As a result, he had to step down in the fifth set against Australian Jordan Thompson.
