Even Though There Is Evidence, SYL Admits That He Never Left IDR 2 Billion To The KPK

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL claimed not to know about the Rp2 billion money sent to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Although, there is evidence of a shipment from his account.

The claim began when the Public Prosecutor (JPU) questioned his knowledge about the deposit of money to the KPK. SYL then emphasized that he did not know about it

"Did the defendant remember the defendant's account number that the defendant had entrusted to the KPK?" asked the prosecutor during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday, June 24.

"What's that money?" SYL asked back.

"The money, both in the form of return and deposit. The defendant has a Bank Mandiri?" said the prosecutor.

"I don't know exactly what an independent bank is or what," SYL replied.

Then, the prosecutor showed evidence regarding the transfer of money to the KPK's deposit account, the nominal amount of which reached Rp. 2 billion. However, SYL still admitted that he did not know.

"Here, based on the evidence we have, there has been money entered in the name of the defendant's account, Mandiri has a value of Rp. 2,018,000,000 to the KPK deposit account in the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture?" asked the prosecutor.

"I don't know," said SYL.

After the prosecutor showed evidence, Chief Justice Rianto Adam Pontoh took the opportunity to ask questions. SYL was questioned about not sending some of the money

However, SYL again said he did not know about it. In fact, there is evidence of a transfer that has now been confiscated.

"Have you ever felt like you deposited it with the KPK?" asked Judge Rianto.

"No," answered SYL.

"In the law, huh?" Judge Rianto asked the prosecutor.

"There is His Majesty," said the prosecutor.

At that time, SYL called his ignorance because his account and password were held by Panji Harjanto, who at that time was his aide.

"So far, I have had the pins, and all of them are from my subordinates, Panji, among others," said SYL.
