Vice President: Disturbance Of PDNS 2 Becomes A Lesson For Cybersecurity Advances
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin said the disturbances that occurred at the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) 2 became a valuable lesson to further strengthen cybersecurity.
"Therefore, this disturbance is a valuable lesson for us to anticipate and should no longer occur in the future," said the Vice President giving a press statement after attending the 91st National Broadcasting Day Commemoration (Harsiranas) and the Opening of the 2024 Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) National Coordination Meeting (KPI) at ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency, Banten, reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 24.
According to the Vice President, cyber attacks can indeed occur anywhere in the world, including Indonesia. For this reason, the government has the task of anticipating and strengthening cyber security.
"We are preparing the anticipations. Indeed, this always happens in this world. Therefore, we will strengthen to protect the confidentiality of the state, society, and public services so that they are not disturbed and the government will continue to try. Therefore, the government always makes one national data, so so that it doesn't get scattered everywhere," said the Vice President.
The vice president also said that the incident was being investigated by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN).
"Because of what happened this decline, it is being carried out by the Kominfo and also by the BSSN and the security forces are looking for the reason," said the Vice President.

It is known, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi emphasized that the government will not pay or meet the demands of USD 8 submitted by PDNS 2 attackers.
"No, no, it won't. It won't," said Budi Arie to reporters after attending the Plenary Cabinet Session on the Economy at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday.
Budi said that currently public service centers can be overcome. The ransomware virus attack aimed at PDNS 2, he said, is being evaluated.
He also emphasized that attacks were not carried out against PDN, but against PDNS 2.
"So that my media friends don't get me wrong, this is not PDN but PDNS 2 in Surabaya. Not the National Data Center, this is PDNS 2, because the PDN is being built, we will use it temporarily in Surabaya," he said.
Head of BSSN Lt. Gen. Hinsa Siburian separately said that the disturbances that occurred in PDNS 2 which caused disruption to various public services since June 20, 2024 were due to cyber attacks caused by ransomware called "Braincipher"
