Police Investigate Grenade Explosion That Injured 4 Residents In Garut

Garut Resort Police investigated the case of a pineapple grenade explosion in Cisurupan District, Garut Regency, West Java, which left four residents injured by grenade pieces, so they had to receive medical treatment at a local hospital.

The Head of Cisurupan Police, Iptu Asep Saepudin, confirmed the grenade explosion, which is currently still under investigation, until it finally exploded at the house of a resident of Babakan Garut Village, Cisero Village, Cisurupan District.

"Well, where did the grenade come from, let alone the training grenade," said Asep Saepudin as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 24.

He said the explosion occurred at around 09.30 WIB when one of the victims, Ayi Sutiawan (46) found pineapple grenades training in shoes that were no longer worn at his home.

Ayi allegedly accidentally pulled the grenade lighter, causing a fairly loud explosion that left four people injured, then had to receive medical treatment at the hospital.

The police, who received reports of the incident, went straight to the location and secured the blast area, also took four injured victims to the hospital, to further investigate the whereabouts of the grenade.

"There were four victims. The victim evacuated to the hospital and carried out further investigations into the origin of the grenade," said Asep.

The police conducted an investigation, coordinated with local Koramil officials to conduct an investigation of the crime scene and asked for information from a number of witnesses, as well as securing other evidence at the scene.

The victims of the explosion were Adih (53), Mulayana Yusuf (3), and Raisa Fitri (6) who suffered injuries from grenade debris, and Ayi Sutiawan (46) suffered lacerations to the fingers of his left hand and suffered sparks on his legs and body.

The condition of the victims of the grenade explosion is currently three people have been allowed to return home, and one person is still undergoing medical treatment at the hospital. "Three people have gone home, one person is still being treated at the hospital," he said.
