Duh, There Are SOEs Whose Debts Don't End Even Though They Are Undergoing Restructuring

PT Danareksa (Persero) as the parent who oversees PT Asset Management Company (PPA) revealed that there is one SOE that is still in debt problems. In fact, it has undergone restructuring through the Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU).

Danareksa President Director Yadi Jaya Ruchandi revealed that the company that is still in debt problem is PT Barata Indonesia (Persero).

Yadi said that his party had made various efforts to make the company healthy.

In fact, continued Yadi, PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) has also taken restructuring steps through PKPU but PT Barata Indonesia's (Persero) debt obligations have not been repaid.

"So we are working on the PKPU finished. Only after the PKPU until now the company cannot turnaround-tournaround," he said at a hearing (RDP) for the BUMN Restructuring and Restructuring Committee, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Monday, June 24.

Yadi revealed that the debt burden borne by PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) is not a new debt. But it is a legacy of past debts.

In fact, Yadi said that in resolving this debt problem, his party had also changed Barata Indonesia's management.

"After the PKPU, there were many additional debts. This is not a new one but the previous one. Even until we did the management there," he explained.

Yadi said Danarekas was focused on carrying out an operational minimum to reduce PT Barata Indonesia's (Persero) debt.

"We will change Barata, it will be a minimum operation," he said.
