Young Mother From Singapore Pours Hot Water On Her Four Children For Allegedly Stealing Money

JAKARTA - A 33-year-old young mother admitted that in court she poured hot water on her four children because she suspected that one of her children had stolen money.

The woman from Singapore pleaded guilty to one charge of molesting a child, and three other charges related to her other children to be considered in sentencing.

The perpetrator cannot be named because of the rules that protect the identity of his children.

Reported by CNA, Monday, June 24, the court said the girls were eight, nine, 10 and 11, when violence occurred in July 2022.

On the morning of July 2, 2022, the perpetrator asked the eldest daughter, an 11-year-old girl, to take 20 Singapore dollars from her wallet to buy bread for breakfast.

The young woman told her mother there was only 5 Singapore dollars in her wallet.

The woman was shocked when she recalled that 60 Singapore dollars was wallet the night before.

He suspected that one of his children had taken the money and ordered them to look for the money.

The woman was watching and threatening to pour hot water on them if they could not find the money the perpetrator believed was missing.

While the children were looking for cash, the woman boiled water in the kitchen. She filled three-quarters of the glass with hot liquid and went to the bedroom, where her children were.

He splashed hot water at them and asked them to return the money.

The children continued to argue and their mother refilled the glass with hot water and poured it back on them.

This young mother repeated it until she splashed hot water every child once. The children cried and ran around the bedroom while apologizing because they were splashed in hot water.

When children stopped searching to get ready for school, the woman noticed her nine-year-old son had burns on his body.

This young mother examined her other children and realized they had similar injuries.

The perpetrator began crying and applied medical oil to the wound before calling his sister to come.

The ambulance was then called.

Court documents detail the injuries suffered by only one of these children, namely a 10-year-old girl who is the second child.

The girl suffered partial burns to her 10 percent body, including her left arm, abdomen, and thigh.

He underwent treatment and sanitary napkins which required general anesthesia and had to undergo periodic examinations of wounds and substitutions.
