Ministry Of Transportation Prepares Pinisi Ship Services For Tourism To IKN

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi supports the plan to cruise the phinisi ship for tourism to the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan.

According to Budi Karya, this step is important to introduce IKN to the wider community, especially since the potential for tourism in Balikpapan waters is very interesting to enjoy.

Budi Karya conveyed that the potential for tourism in Balikpapan waters that are still green and natural is very amazing and very unfortunate if it is not maximized.

"Punggur Port, ITCI Port, and Orangutan Fire Center are planned to be shipping routes for phinisi ships for tourist purposes in the Balikpapan area, especially to go to the IKN area," said the Minister of Transportation during a working visit to Balikpapan, quoted on Sunday, June 23.

Budi Karya explained, the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation has set two routes for the service of phinisi ships, namely from Semayang Port, Balang Island Bridge (passing) PT ITCI KU Pier (leading) Semayang Harbor.

Then for the opposite route, namely PT ITCI KU Pier Balang Island Bridge (passing) Semayang Port (leading) PT ITCI KU Pier.

The total shipping time is estimated to be 3 hours and 30 minutes. Throughout the trip, continued the Minister of Transportation, tourists will be able to enjoy a variety of interesting experiences, ranging from culinary tours, visiting the aesthetic multipurpose building and the Balang Island bridge, mangrove forests, breeding orangutans, to seeing other endemic animals, such as pesut fish, defenders, and crocodiles.

While in the IKN area, tourists will be able to enjoy city tours in the Central Central Government Core Area using environmentally friendly vehicles. This will certainly be an unforgettable experience for tourists," he explained.

Then, Budi Karya also said that the sea route could basically cut the time from Balikpapan to IKN compared to using land transportation.

Thus, Budi Karya said that tourists have more time to enjoy the experience in the new capital city.

Budi Karya hopes that the provision of sea transportation services for tourism can provide a unique experience for tourists.

"One thing that is no less important, hopefully this step can make a significant contribution to the regional economy as well as in order to preserve the maritime culture of the country," he concluded.
