Sunday Afternoon, North Sulawesi Melonguane Was Rocked By A 5.0 Magnitude Earthquake

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 rocked Melonguane, North Sulawesi, Sunday afternoon 23 June 2024 at 11.50 WIB.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at coordinates 4.79 degrees north latitude (LU) and 127.73 degrees east longitude (BT) or precisely located at a distance of 146 kilometers northeast of Melonguane, North Sulawesi at a depth of 11 kilometers.

"There is no warning about the potential for a tsunami issued by BMKG due to this earthquake. Be careful of aftershocks that may occur," wrote BMKG on its official website.
