The Capim Pansel And The KPK Council Ensure That Women Have The Same Opportunity As Men

JAKARTA - The Selection Committee (Pansel) for Candidates for Leadership (Kapim) and the KPK Supervisory Board ensures that women will have the same opportunity as men. Inclusiveness is very much considered in finding the figure of the anti-corruption commission leader.

"That is one of the agendas that we have discussed regarding the inclusiveness of female gender," said KPK's Head of Pansel Capim and Council Ivan Yustiavanda to reporters in a written statement, Sunday, June 23.

"As long as it meets the criteria, it will definitely be considered. There is also no thinking in the Pansel to prioritize men," he continued.

Ivan believes that many women are able to become leaders and supervisors. Thus, the Pansel Capim and the KPK Council opened wide opportunities for those who want to register.

"Special criteria do not exist and we are sure that there are many Indonesian women who are superb more than men. Hopefully, from those of Indonesia's great women, there are those who are interested in registering later," said the Head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).

Registration for candidates for the leadership of the KPK and candidates for the KPK Supervisory Board for the period 2024-2029 is open on June 26. The registration period will end on July 15.

In carrying out their duties, the Capim Pansel and the KPK Council have heard input from many parties such as media leaders and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Not only that, they have come to the anti-corruption commission on Tuesday, June 12.

Chairman of the Selection Committee (Pansel) for Leadership Candidates (Capim) and the KPK Council Yusuf Ateh invited the KPK to propose an internal name as a candidate at that time. He and his team have asked for information in a closed audience today.

"Earlier, we also asked for information about it from the leadership," Yusuf told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 12.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata said deputies who met the criteria were welcome to run as candidates for the Capim. For example, Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Pahala Nainggolan.

"Wow, basically all deputies at the KPK, please come forward if for example you want to," he said to reporters after meeting Pansel Capim and the KPK Supervisory Board.

Even so, Alexander said he did not want to force his subordinates to replace his position. "I pushed him until he knocked. That's right, but the person concerned is back," he said.
