West Java Provincial Government Sends Appeals To Shoulders To Handle Massive Stunting
JAKARTA - The Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, together with the head of the health office from 27 districts/cities are committed to suppressing stunting prevalence through progressive and measurable steps.
This was stated by Herman Suryatman after the Coordination Meeting of the Provincial and Regency/City Health Offices in the West Java Region in 2024 at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Friday, June 21, 2024.
"We have a consolidation meeting with 27 regencies/cities attended by the heads of the health office and the head of the West Java Health Office. All are committed to realizing new zero stunting, there will be no new stunting," said Herman.
Herman explained that currently the prevalence of stunting in West Java has touched 27.7 percent. Therefore, he hopes that today's meeting can reduce stunting prevalence to 14 percent by the end of 2024.
"Today, the prevalence of stunting in West Java is 27.7 percent. This commitment is supported by plans for execution in all districts, sub-districts, villages and even posyandu, as well as stunting conscious homes. God willing, it is hoped that West Java stunting will decrease to 14 percent," he added.

To make this happen, Herman encouraged all stakeholders along with the ranks in the posyandu to work hand in hand to deal with stunting massively.
"We beat all pregnant women by getting free blood-added tablets and giving free examination fees. Also make sure pregnant women 100 percent consume at least two rounds of animal protein a day," he said.
"100 percent pregnant women must be ensured to provide exclusive breast milk for six months. All children aged 7-24 months will receive advanced breast milk and animal protein. We'll see the action later. With collaboration and synergy, God willing, in six months it will definitely change," said Herman.
