Google Meet Adds 52 New Languages For Translate Text

JAKARTA Google is improving the language's ability to text translation on Google Meet. Now, this Zoom and Skype competitor has supported more than 50 languages so that language limitations can be addressed. Announced on the official Workspace update website, Google says language support for written captions has been rolled out to the beta version of Google Meet. The company added 52 languages so that the total number becomes 87 languages. "For Gemini subscribers to Google Workspace, we added 52 languages to translational texts with full language support, meaning these languages can be translated into and from other fully supported languages," explains Google. Some of the new languages added are Azerbaijan, Czech, Laos, Greece, Iceland, Ukraine, Malay, Serbia, and much more. Google also released full language support for some of the previously launched languages. "We also launched full language support for 6 previously launched languages. The text of the translation now fully supports 69 languages." That is, the number of these mentioned languages has been refined by Google.

This language support is available to all Google Workspace and users with personal accounts. This feature is now accessible to some users, but its launch will still be carried out in stages for three days starting Friday, June 21. Google Meet users do not need to activate any features because this language support will be available by default. In the future, translational captions will be available on various Gemini add-ons such as Gemini Enterprise, AI Meetings and Messaging, and others.
