Discussed By The Party's High Council, Bobby Nasution Immediately Gets Democratic Support

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party High Council (MTP) is discussing the name of the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution as one of the candidates for governor in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election.

In the near future, the Democrats will give the letter of assignment to President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) son-in-law.

"(Bobby) Discussed at the Party High Council. I think in the not too distant future, we'll just have to wait," said Deputy of Bappilu for the Democratic Party Kamhar Lakumani, to reporters, Friday, June 21.

However, the Democrats have not given a decree (SK) to support Bobby because they are still waiting for the candidate for deputy governor who will accompany him to run in the North Sumatra Pilgub. The Democrats, said Kamhar, will only issue a letter of assignment to Bobby as the governor.

"It's possible that it is still a letter of assignment because it is not yet paired, we'll just have to wait," said Kamhar.

It is known that the Golkar Party previously officially supported Bobby Nasution running as a candidate for governor (cagub) in the North Sumatra gubernatorial election.

This support was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, during a meeting between the Chairman of the North Sumatra Golkar DPD, Musa Rajeksah and the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution at his residence on Jalan Widya Chandra III, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 19.

Bobby conveyed that Musa Rajeksah, who is familiarly called Ijeck, was included in the candidate as cawagub to accompany him in the 2024 North Sumatra Pilkada.

"Alhamdulillah, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Golkar Party for their support, asking for support from the Golkar Party so that I can run for the governor of North Sumatra," Bobby said after the meeting.

"And thank God this afternoon, a letter of assignment was given from the general chairman, and it was conveyed earlier that a letter of recommendation would be given if there was a candidate for deputy governor," he continued.
