Inspirational, Tito Karnavian Praises Lafran's Film

JAKARTA - Film Lafran mulai tayang di bioskop Kamis, 20 Juni. Menteri Dalam Negeri (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian menjadi salah satu penonton di hari pertamanya penayangan film perjalanan hidup Lafran Pane, sosok pendiri organisasi Setan Studi Islam (HMI) yang juga pahlawan nasional.

Tito participated in watching the film Lafran with a number of figures at the Djakarta Theater. The Minister of Home Affairs admitted that he really wanted to help the wish of the extended family of the HMI Alumni Corps (KAHMI) so that this film could be socialized in the wider community.

"I received information that this figure named Lafran Pane is a historical figure who has received the title of national hero from the President of the Republic of Indonesia. That is a very strong legitimacy to help socialize this film," said Tito.

He said that his party would socialize the film, including through social media. This is because one of the tasks of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) is to raise the values of national unity and integrity, nationalism, including to respect the heroes.

"Therefore, in principle we will socialize with friends, we will make pieces of the film to TikTok. The short screenshot of this film is the trailer. We will socialize it to the regions," he added.

On the other hand, his presence in the event is specifically in order to get inspiration from the figure of Lafran.

"Because I have read the figure of Lafran through Google, the following is the frequency of the film. So, by watching it live, we can create a narrative that can encourage people to really watch and regional heads will help to invite stories," he said.

Tito emphasized that the plan to socialize to regional heads to invite people to watch Lafran films is not because they see their HMI oganization.

Nor does he see him as the Minister of Home Affairs or Chairman of Commission II Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung as the Coordinator of the Presidium of the KAHMI National Assembly.

"However, because the historical figure is Lafran Pane, who is a figure who brings inspiration and we must respect him as a national hero, and there are many struggles that we must continue. Well, tonight I want to see his inspiration so that in making a narrative of circulars to regional heads for film socialization is right," he said.

Meanwhile, KAHMI National Assembly Presidium Coordinator Ahmad Doli Kurnia, who participated in the event, said that the film Lafran was the first film produced by the extended family of the KAHMI National Assembly in collaboration with the Reborn Initiative and Radepa Studio.

"The process of making it for 7 years was initiated by Bang Akbar Tandjung. Bang Akbar Tandjung ordered us to make a book about biography and develop into a film," explained Doli.

He further said that the film Lafran tells about the figure of an Islamic youth who fights for the ideals and ideas that unite Indonesia and Islam.

Apart from Ahmad Doli Kurnia, he accompanied the Minister of Home Affairs, including the Chairman of Committee I DPD RI Fachrul Razi. Also present were senior alumni of HMI Akbar Tandjung, Baharuddin Aritonang, Laode Ida, and the ranks of the MN KAHMI Management, the HMI-Wati Alumni Forum (Forhati), the HMI Executive Board, as well as invited guests from student organizations such as PP KAMMI.
