Jealous Of Alleged Cheating, Husband In Sukabumi Hits Wife

SUKABUMI - Cibeureum Resort Sukabumi City Police personnel arrested a husband in Sukabumi City, West Java with the initials EY (37) who is suspected of having vandalized his wife's car with the initials RI (41).

"This destruction occurred on Jalan Garuda, Legok Village RT 002/001, Sindangpalay Village, Cibeureum District on Tuesday (18/6) at around 02.30 WIB. We arrested the suspect shortly after the incident," said Cibeureum Police Chief AKP Suwaji quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 20.

According to Suwaji, from the results of the examination of EY, the suspect was determined to destroy his wife's car because he was consumed by jealousy and suspected that his wife had an affair.

Initially, the car driven by EY chased the car used by his wife from Gang Samsi, Cisarua Village, Cikole District, Sukabumi City in the early hours of Tuesday.

It is suspected that the suspect's wife, who was afraid, then tried to avoid being chased by her husband towards Cibeureum District, right at the scene without thinking EY then crashed his car into his wife's car and bounced and hit a parked resident's car and damaged a shop belonging to a local resident.

The location of the incident, which is not far from the Cibeureum Police Headquarters, surprised the officer who was on picket plus information from residents regarding the incident. Cibeureum Police officers immediately rushed to the location and immediately arrested EY.

After making the arrest, the police then searched the suspect's car and found a hammer and cutter knife. At the location, officers also confiscated broken glass from the shop which was hit by the victim's car.

"The suspect was desperate to do this because he suspected that his wife had an affair so that he pursued the car driven by his wife and in the car, it turned out that there was his son," he said.

Suwaji said that he was still developing this case, apart from arresting the suspect and confiscating a number of evidences, investigators from the Cibeureum Police Criminal Investigation Unit also asked for information from a number of witnesses to determine the next legal process.
