PSSI Agrees With PT LIB, The League Agenda Will Not Disturb The Schedule Of The Indonesian National Team
JAKARTA - PSSI General Chairperson (Ketum), Erick Thohir, has reached an agreement with PT Liga Indonesia baru (LIB) as the operator of Liga 1. This concerns a schedule that is certainly not going to harm each other, especially considering that the Indonesian national team is waiting for a very busy agenda.
The Garuda squad will appear in the third round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualifiers in September 2024. There will be 10 matches that will be passed. This requires synergy with the schedule of Liga 1 which will also roll out.
Erick Thohir said the agreement also contained plans to reform domestic competitions in order to produce quality players.
"We continue to transform Indonesian football, especially the league which is now a priority to be addressed," said Erick Thohir in the Jakarta area on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

"This afternoon we from PSSI and PT LIB again discussed various things to improve the league. We have agreed on a calendar for League 1 to 2027 competition so that both the league and the agenda of the Indonesian national team can run well," he said.
In the agreement, Erick Thohir also asked PT LIB to run three important things for the improvement of the quality of the country's competition.
The first thing is the restructuring of the management. The second thing that needs to be done by PT LIB is to announce the schedule for the implementation of the league so that it does not conflict with the agenda of the Indonesian national team match.
The third thing is to prepare marketing gatherings. Erick Thohir wants League 1 and League 2 and clubs to grow to be rich. You see, this aspect is one of the assessment criteria of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
