Vice President Proposes Social Assistance To Be Revoked From Recipients Who Even Depot Slot Online Gambling
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin suggested that recipients of social assistance funds (bansos) then misuse them for gambling (slot deposits) should be removed from the list of social assistance recipients.
"If the recipient of the social assistance, the social assistance is used for gambling, now that is revoked. The proposal is not to let him, there will be people who will use social assistance using gambling," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 20.
The proposal, said the Vice President, is to provide a deterrent effect so that the social assistance provided can be used as well as possible.
"So, not people who are gambling are given social assistance. Social assistance recipients if they are gambling are revoked to teach everyone a lesson, so that they are used for something that provides benefits," he said.
The Vice President emphasized that the social assistance is intended for the poor, whose data continues to be updated every year.
"Anyway, the poor only. The categories are poor, those who are verified are poor, deserve social assistance. It continues to be updated every year, but for example, if the opposite is true, if there is social assistance receipt, it is used for online gambling or other gambling, just withdraw it," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
It is known that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ensures that there is no social assistance for victims of online or online gambling.
"Nodakada," said President Jokowi while reviewing the pumping in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, Wednesday (19/6).
Including the matter of plans related to the social assistance policy for the target, he said, there was also none. "Nothing," he said.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy emphasized that those who were the target recipients of social assistance for victims of online gambling were not perpetrators, but the family.
"It needs to be understood, don't cut it into pieces. If the perpetrator is clear, it must be prosecuted because it is a crime. So what I mean by the recipient of the social assistance is family members such as the wife/husband's children," he said.
He explained this as a clarification of information circulating in the last few days on various social media channels related to the idea of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture to provide social assistance for victims of online gambling.
He explained that the idea of providing social assistance to victims of online gambling was one of the materials proposed by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture in preparation for the formation of the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force (Satgas).
