Gerindra Invite Golkar To Consider Ridwan Kamil Forward In The West Java Or Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party has invited the Golkar Party to consider Ridwan Kamil running in the West Java gubernatorial election or in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. Deputy General Chairperson of Gerindra Habiburokhman said that Ridwan Kamil's appointment in the Jakarta Pilkada by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) is not yet final. "This means that it is not fixed, please consider it by our friends (Golkar), we can't force it. If they want to be in West Java, it will definitely be decided in West Java by them," said Habiburokhman at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, June 20. The point for Gerindra, said Habiburokhman, whoever is a figure who is promoted in both the West Java and Jakarta Pilkada, the most important can bring victory. "But we want West Java to win, in Jakarta we will win. We will definitely look for figures whose electability to win the fight is now quite measurable. So that's the point," he said. The member of the Jakarta electoral district house of the DPR emphasized that the registration time for regional head candidates is still about two months away. So, according to him, there are still dynamics that occurs. Most importantly, candidates promoted by political parties in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) can win.

"Our spirit is the Gerindra Party, how can cadres from the Prabowo-Gibran support party win the area as much as possible," he said. "When it comes to, for example, West Java and DKI, if we can win both, yes. Why? Because of the importance of alignment between the central leader, Mr. Prabowo, yes with the regional head," continued Habiburokhman. Regarding Ridwan Kamil, added Habiburokhman, his readiness must also be asked. Whether to advance in West Java or Jakarta.

"Likewise, what is the decision of the Golkar party. Because something like this cannot be forced, yes. We are basically in good relations between parties, between people, between these figures, if we are willing to run in Jakarta, we will support it, Gerindra party is like that," he concluded. Previously, Golkar Party Deputy Ahmad Doli Kurnia revealed that his party was currently asking for more time from political parties in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) to decide whether to carry Ridwan Kamil or not in the Jakarta Pilkada.
