PeKANBARU - Police announced the results of an examination of the incident of a woman who died falling from the 3rd floor at a gym, in the area of Jalan Parit Haji Husein II, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan on Tuesday, June 18 afternoon.

Kasatreskrim Polresta Pontianak, Kompol Antonius Trias Kuncorojati explained, the victim who died with the initials FN at that time went to the gym location with his sister with the initials T and his lover with the initials AA.

"The victim was invited by his girlfriend to play with a gym kit on the second floor, but the victim prefers to go to the third floor for a treadmill," he said, Wednesday, June 19.

Trias said, FN or the victim then fell while using a treadmill whose position was facing the open window. The victim pulled back and fell out through the window.

"Immediately fell down and finally died. At that time, two of his younger siblings who received the news immediately arrived at the location to then evacuate the victim to the Pontianak Untan Hospital," explained Trias.

The Pontianak Police Inafis Team arrived at the scene at around 14.00 WIB to conduct a crime scene investigation. The team collected evidence and witness statements at the time of the incident.

"In the interest of the investigation, the police transferred the victim to Bhayangkara Hospital Anton Soedjarwo Polda West Kalimantan to conduct a post-mortem," he explained.

From the results of the post-mortem, the victim suffered serious injuries to several parts of his body. Among them are bruises on the left and right foreheads, cheeks and lacerations on the head. This is the cause of death of the victim.

"During the post-mortem, he was still bleeding in his head even though he was dead. Then there was also a fracture in his head and bruises all over his body," he explained.

Trias emphasized that police investigators are still investigating the incident. Regarding the element of negligence or pure accident. However, from the results of the crime scene, the location appears vulnerable and risky to use for treadmill activities.

"Treadmill with a very close window. The width of the 90 cm window is also very wide. The lower distance of the window boundary is very low, only 30 cm, making it easier for people to fall," he explained.

Moreover, Trias said, treadmill activity spurs users to use a large enough energy. So that when tired, users can lose consciousness.

"Indeed, if you look at it, people easily fall back because of the activity earlier. Then they can fall straight down," he said.

According to Trias, his party will continue to investigate to ascertain whether the accident occurred due to negligence by the fitness facility manager. If an element of negligence is found in the investigation process, then the case will be investigated and an investigation will be increased.

"The owner of the gym has been summoned for questioning," he said.
