Naughty ASN Who Voted On A Number Of Polling Stations In Teluk Wondana, West Papua, Was Arrested
WEST PAPUA - Teluk Wondama Resort Police (Polres), West Papua, managed to arrest Barnabas Sayori, who was convicted of the 2024 General Election case which was included in the wanted list (DPO) by the Manokwari District Attorney."We have secured BS who is a convict in the 2024 election case," said Head of Teluk Wondama Police AKBP Hari Sutanto in a written statement to ANTARA in Manokwari, Wednesday, June 19.He explained that the convict who was a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Wondama Bay Regency Government was arrested while hiding in a coastal area on June 15, 2024 after previously fleeing to Nabire Regency, Central Papua Province.The convict also moved hiding locations to avoid being chased by the police together with the Manokwari District Attorney's Tabur Team for approximately one month."Then fled to Manokwari, and in June 2024 again fled to Wondama Bay," said the Police Chief.The convict, he said, had been sentenced to ten months in prison and a fine of Rp. 18 million as stated in the decision of the Manokwari District Court Number: 80/Pid.Sus/2024/PN Mnk."If the fine money is not paid to the state, the sentence will be increased by one month in prison," explained the Police Chief.He said that Barnabas Sayori was proven guilty of electoral offenses by voting more than once on a number of polling stations (TPS) in Wasior District, Wondama Bay.
The arrest of Barnabas Sayori is proof of the Wondama Bay Police's commitment to take firm action against the perpetrators of the election crime, considering that the government will again hold the Pilkada on November 27, 2024."We have submitted the convict to the Manokwari District Attorney's Office on June 16, 2024 to serve the court's decision," said Hari Sutanto.
