CATL Starts Construction Of Battery Production Bases In Beijing For Xiaomi, BAIC To Li Auto Supply
JAKARTA - The world's largest electric vehicle battery manufacturer from China, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) has started the construction of a battery production base in Beijing that will supply various well-known manufacturers.
Based on a report from CNevpost, Wednesday, June 19, the first new laying ceremony has been carried out for projected battery bases invested with CATL, to supply BAIC, Xiaomi to Li Auto.
"Prepared with standards for a carbonless lighthouse and factory, the manufacturing site will display CATL's high speed, high level of automation and flexible production lines," according to CATL's information.
It is undeniable that CATL has become a giant that has spread its wings, and it is even said that a battery factory located in China's Guizhou Province is claimed to be able to produce one cell per second. This means that the speed is unquestionable.

Most recently, CATL introduced a new battery product called Shenxing Plus last April which has an energy density of 205 jurisprudence//kg, and is claimed to increase the distance of up to 600 km in just 10 minutes of charging.
The project is named Beijing Shidai Power Battery Co Ltd, which is a joint venture between CATL, BAIC, Xiaomi EV, and Beijing Energy International.
At the joint venture, CATL owns 51 percent or the largest stake, BAIC 39 percent, Xiaomi EV and Beijing Energy International own 5 percent of each.
"CATL will also encourage more supply chain companies to come to Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei regions to help the local economy," the company added.
Unfortunately, CATL did not elaborate in more detail on when the production base began and was completed for mass production immediately.
As is known, currently CATL is the choice of many manufacturers to use its batteries. Call it Chery, Zeekr under the auspices of Geely, Volvo, Nio to Tesla.
