SYL May Fail To Present Rider Boss As Witness Today

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL may fail to present the Director of the "Rider" underwear brand, Hanan Supangkat, at the trial of the alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities, today, Wednesday 19 June. SYL's attorney, Djamaluddin Koedoeboen, said that efforts to present Hanan Supangkat had been carried out. However, until now there has been no confirmation regarding the presence or absence of the 'Rider' boss. "We have not received confirmation from the person concerned," said Djamaluddin to VOI, Wednesday, June 19. If the SYL camp cannot present Hanan Supangkat, then, the opportunity to present witnesses has expired. This is because the panel of judges has given a final limit today. "Yes (the opportunity for SYL to present witnesses has expired)," said Djamaluddin. In this case, SYL was charged with extortion of up to Rp44.5 billion during the 2020-2023 period.
