Israel 'Strengthens' Jewish Settlements In West Bank After Several Countries Admit Palestine

JAKARTA - The Israeli government said it was trying to "strengthen" Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank after several countries recognized Palestinian countries.

In a statement issued on Sunday, June 16, the Israeli Prime Minister's office said all proposals to strengthen settlements in the region would be decided at the next meeting of the Security Cabinet.

Israel's Foreign Ministry said the action was a retaliation for terrorism and Hamas.

The statement also said Israel would consider what action should take against the Palestinian Authority when they take action against Israel in international agencies.
