Old Car Owned By 'Drug Lord' Pablo Escobar Sold For IDR 31.6 Billion

JAKARTA - One of Pablo Escobar's motorsport cars was purchased by the Atlantis Motor group for USD 2.2 million (IDR 31.6 billion).

The 1974 Porsche 911 RSR IROC was a car that people like the sultan crave.

Launching MARCA, Tuesday, March 16, this car was first made to race in the International Race of Champions at the Indianapolis 500 in the United States.

After being initially bought by current Indycar boss Roger Penske, the car fell into the hands of former Formula 1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi.

In the long list of owners also appears the name Pablo Escobar, who of course uses this car in Colombia.

The drug lord is a huge car enthusiast as well as a racer.

In the end, Escobar swapped the Porsche 911 for the 935 Martini color.
